In collaboration with the cathedral choir, Cité Musicale-Metz and the City of Metz, the Saint Ulrich Musical Meetings centre (Rencontres Musicales de Saint Ulrich) offers a rare experience: the interpretation of church music in a setting that evokes 17th and 18th century ceremonies as closely as possible (sequence of pieces, number of singers, instruments, position of singers). In a re-enactment of the great Metz Cathedral Ceremony of 1694, the public will be welcomed in the nave by the Cathedral choir and by Renaissance organ music during the prologue, then taken into the chancel, behind the jube illuminated by the Paradigme collective, to listen to various works that were performed during the Christmas celebrations and Hanukkah.
