Contributing to this Concert Lorrain is a small choir made up of women (Petit Choeur de Femmes) and Anne-Catherine Bucher, organ player and conductor. Concert Lorrain is the exceptional recreation of the Song from the Royal Abbey of Saint Glossinde in Metz (Chant de l’Abbaye Royale de Sainte-Glossinde de Metz). These motets composed by Guillaume Haslé, Chapel Master at Metz Cathedral at the beginning of the 18th century, and recently rediscovered in the archives of Metz's diocesan library, fell into oblivion for almost three hundred years. Dedicated to Saint Glossinde, they reveal a facet of the history of the cathedral and its Baroque musical heritage, now mostly forgotten. They are part of a French baroque tradition, following in the footsteps of composers such as Campra, Lemaire, Brossard, Lochon and Morin.
